1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2
1/R = 1/3 + 1/297
1/R= 99 + 1/297
1/R = 100/297
R = 2.97 ohm
1/R = 1/3 + 1/297
1/R= 99 + 1/297
1/R = 100/297
R = 2.97 ohm

Solution
resitance of galvanometer Rg= 297 ohm
restance which connect in parallel R1 = 3 ohm
let consider if the current flow in the ckt is= i
current which passing through the galvanometer is =Ig.
then
Ig=. (R1/R1+Rg)*i
Ig = (3/300)*i. R1+Rg= 300
Ig=0.01 i
Ig= 1% of i
