Answer :-

Resistivity of wire changes with

Resistivity depend on the nature of the material of the conductor and also on temperature.

1) Length of wire

Resistance of a conductor is directly proportional to its length.

• Length :- If the length of the conductor increases, Then the electrons have to travel a longer distances and because of this resistance increases Thus

R proportional to length. eq( 1 )

* From, Above it is clear that only resistance changes with increase in length it doesn't affect resistivity. It means resistivity doesn't affect with increase and decrease in length.

2) Area of cross sectional area :-

Thickness of wire

If the cross sectional area of the conductor decreases, the electrons find it more difficult to passed through it and as such it's resistance increases.

R inversely proportional to 1/Area ( eq- 2 )

* From above it is clear that resistance is depend on cross sectional area but it doesn't affect resistivity.

Nature of Material :-

By combining eq ( 1 ) and eq ( 2 )

R is proportional to resistivity of wire *length but inversely proportional to Area.

Thus, Resistivity depends on the nature of material of the conductor and also on temperature.

Hence, It depends on Nature of Material .
