our first equation...

$5x + 3y = 19$

on multiplying this equation by 4 , we get

$= > \: 20x + 12y = 76 ......................(i)$

our second equation...

$4x - 7y = - 13$

on multiplying this equation by 5 , we get

$= > \: 20x - 35y = - 65...................(ii)$

On subtracting equation (i) and equation (ii) , we get

$20x - 20x + 12y - ( - 35y) = 76 - ( - 65)$

$= > \: 0 + 12y + 35y = 76 + 65$

$= > \: 47y = 141$

$= > \: y = \frac{141}{47}$

$= > \: y = 3 \: answer$

on putting the value of y in any of the equation we will get the required value of x...

$5x + 3 \times (3) = 19$

$= > \: 5x = 19 - 9$

$= > \: x = \frac{10}{5}$

$= > \: x = 2 \: answer$
