The bleaching action of ozone is because of it's oxidation power

Ozone act as the strong bleaching agent . It have capacity to produced oxygen as well as the nascent oxygen This production of nascent oxygen actually causes the bleaching action as it bleach the color on permanent basis. The ozone 

This bleaching power of  ozone make is suitable as the economic and environmental benefits  are more as compared to chlorine dioxide . It also act as a strong oxidized  and have capacity to quickly react with the pulp.
