All plants rely on the same sources that is sunlight, soil nutrients and water. Hence it is much more difficult for plants to partition resources because we can't have a plant which is specially-designed for eating, only light and other that specialises in eating the water. This explains basically the Resource partitioning of soil by desert plants and thus the answer is this.
