Tamil Nadu is rich in many important resources like soil, forest, wildlife, human resources, to name a few, but the state also faces a deficiency in other important resources.

These are:

1. PURE DRINKING WATER - There is a shortage of pure drinking water although being a coastal state and rich in fresh water rivers.

2. FOSSIL FUELS - Tamil Nadu might have many renewable resources of energy, also because it is near coastal region. But it has fewer energy fuels in deposits like oil and natural gas.

3. MINERALS - There is also a scarcity of mineral resources such as gypsum, cobalt, limestone, lead, silica and zinc.
