respiration is the vital process of the body because due to excessive co2 the body may form carboxyhaemoglobin and slowly lead to death of the person. it is also necessary because due to it only the food breaks down into glucose.

Respiration is very important because energy can only be formed though it.
Respiration also removes waste [co2] from the body.
Respiration is the only process from which oxygen can be acquired which in turn is used to break down glucose completely into carbon dioxide and water.
Since, diffusion process cannot take oxygen, respiration is the only way to take air in and give out.
