Catabolic Process
Hope it helps(•ө•)♡
✳ Option C
Respiration is biochemical process in our body which breaks down glucose or oxidise glucose to release Co2, H2O and energy. As this is a breakdown process, it is catabolic in nature.

⏺ Metabolism
The sum total of all the vital activities is called as metabolism. Vital activities refers to any kind of biochemical processes that takes place in the cell.
The Metabolic processes are two types:
- Catabolic Process(catabolism)
- Anabolic Process(anabolism)
♠️Catabolic Processes - It includes the Metabolic processses that invoves breaking down of larger molecules to smaller molecules. Eg - Respiration.
♠️Ananbolic Processes - It includes synthesize processes in which a complex or large compound is made from smaller compounds or molecules. Eg- Photosynthesis.
⏺ Respiration
It is the process by which the assimilated food(the food that have reached the cells through blood) is oxidized to produce energy. It also releases Co2 and water vapour.
- In this process the oxygen(in air) enters into the body and reacts with food molecules to liberate energy in the form of ATP and also releases Co2 and H2O in the form of water vapour.
- The released energy is stored in cell as ATP molecules for further use and through excretion Co2 and H2O are removed.
There are two types of Respiration that are aerobic and anaerobic respiration. It is classified on the basis of presence of O2. Aerobic respiration takes place in higher organisms whereas Anaerobic redpiration in lower unicellular organisms and muscles cell of human body. Their end products are different.
