we need energy to stay alive.in the respiration, the carbohydrate of the foods provides us energy for our workout and maintenance.we know that the complex food in our body are broken down into simpler ones after digestion.as like carbohydrate are broken into glucose.and then that glucose combines with oxygen in cells.and thus provides energy.which ultimately proved that respiration is vital at all and one of the essential life process forever.

All organisms perform many activities such as growth, reproduction, movement etc. to perform all these activities we need energy and that energy comes from the food we eat. After digestion the food is brought to the ce where it is broken into carbon dioxide and water to release energy and this process is called respiration. All organisms respire to get energy thus respiration is a vital function of body.
