Answer:

1) Respiration is important because it produces energy that is essential for the normal functioning of the body.

2)Anaerobic respiration in humans is a biochemical process whereby cells -- primarily muscle cells -- generate energy from glucose in the absence of oxygen.

3) Yeast works by serving as one of the leavening agents in the process of fermentation, which is essential in the making of bread. The purpose of any leavener is to produce the gas that makes bread rise. Yeast does this by feeding on the sugars in flour, and expelling carbon dioxide in the process.

4) Breathing involves the process of inhaling and exhaling the air in and out of lungs. While breathing, oxygen is inhaled and carbon dioxide is exhaled. Respiration is the process of breaking down of glucose to produce energy which is used by cells to carry out the cellular function. Breathing takes place in the lungs.

5) What we breathe in is far from pure oxygen, but roughly by volume 78 per cent nitrogen, 21 per cent oxygen, 0.965 per cent argon and 0.04 per cent carbon dioxide (plus some helium, water and other gases). The permanent gases in air we exhale are roughly 78 per cent nitrogen, 15 to 18 per cent oxygen (we retain only a small amount), 4 to 5 per cent carbon dioxide and 0.96 per cent argon, the CO2 being of course used by plants during photosynthesis.

6) The correct sequence which shows path of carbon dioxide during respiration is as follows. body cells, capillaries, alveoli. During respiration, carbon dioxide first enter into the body cell, and then it enter into the capillaries and after passing through the capillaries, it enter into the lungs or alveoli.

7) Smoking inflames and irritates the lungs. Even one or two cigarettes cause irritation and coughing. Smoking also can destroy your lungs and lung tissue. This decreases the number of air spaces and blood vessels in the lungs, resulting in less oxygen to critical parts of your body.
