That is due to gravitational force of earth. Gravity of both bodies compel the smaller moon revolve around our earth.
That is what Sir Newton said :D
If a cannon shoots a ball diagonally out of the sky that it would reach space, it will endlessly revolve around earth.
This is the principle by which man-made satellites moves in earth's orbit.
