1)you are standing on a platform and see a train speeding past you. the train is definitely in motion with respect to you.
now, think of a passenger in the same train..to the passenger the train in at rest but he sees the platform speeding past him, meaning you appear to be in motion with respect to him...
2)
the earth like all the other planets including the sun are actually moving. so though the computer in front of you may seem to be at rest with respect to you, it is actually in motion if someone from the moon or some other planet sees it..
3)
if you are in a bus you will say the tree on the road is in the state of motion but the man standing near the tree will say that you are in the state of motion .rest and motion changes according to the state of motion of the observer
4)
Consider urself on planet earth..The earth appears to b stationary 2 u bt actually it is moving 24X7, i.e.it is rotating on its axis..bt if u go in space, lets say to moon, u wl see the same earth moving whereas u wl b stationary.
5)
when a bus moves on a road, then the bus as well as the passengers sitting in it change their positions with respect to a person standing on the road side. However, the passengers sitting in the
bus do not change their positions with respect to each other. It means, the passengers sitting in a moving bus are
not in motion with respect to each other. We find that an object is in motion only if it changes its position with respect to a fixed point or a fixed body. Therefore, a body air an object is in motion with respect to one thing but the same body or an object may not be in motion with respect to another thing. Thus, motion is a relative term...

Answer:

Explanation:

a body which appear at rest to one person may appear inmotion to some other person at same time. for example,. a person sitting in a moving train, all the other passenger are at rest, but for the person standing on the ground all the passenger of the train are moving forward . this shows that rest and motion are relative terms
