If a body does not change its position, it is said to be on rest and if it changes its position it is known as motion. The examples of motion include: running, cycling, jumping, swimming, eating, drinking, playing, writing, typing, moving cars, throwing ball, etc.

Rest:If an object does not moves with the respect of time and environment it is said to be in rest. Eg :-a bed, a notebook, a pen, etc.
Motion:If an object moves with the respect of time and environment it is said to be in motion. Eg:-a moving car, a moving ball, a running man, etc
