If the string is cut there, the bob will fall freely vertically downwars under the efferct of gravity. (ii) When a bob hung form a ceileing while performing a simple hormontc motionreaches at mean position, it has maximum horizonatl velcity. If the strig is cut there, the bob will follow a parabliec path as it is is similar to the case of projectile given a horizontal projection.
