Given:

20 g of ice at 0°C and 20g of water at 50°C are mixed.

To find:

Resultant temperature

Answer :

The mass of ice and water is same so, the final temperature will be the average of both the temperatures .

Final temperature =

 \frac{0+50}{2}\\ \\ \\ = \frac{\cancel{50}}{\cancel{2}} \\ \\ \\ T _ f = 25^{\circ} C (Option \:D)

Additional Information:

\purple{Thermal \: equilibrium} - Thermal equilibrium is the state in which two objects connected by a permeable barrier don't have any heat transfer between them. This happens when the two objects have the same temperature.

*Note - The heat transfer goes on between two substances until they reach equilibria that is they reach the same temperature.
