returns outward book is kept to record the items which are returned back from where we a firm had purchased it.
for example:- a firm buyed goods worth ₹20000 and returned the defective products worth ₹2000 then the transaction would be purchase ₹20000
less returns ₹2000
=₹18000
Hope this is helpful
