The most fascinating thing about elephanta place is sculptured and carved caves. you have to reach here by ferry from Gateway of India. Hence this place is easily accessible.Enjoy the beautiful view of the Arabian Sea and also you if you are lucky you get a chance to see big ships around you. The ferry take you to the base of Island. From there you have take your tickets and start your journey to explore the Caves there are about 150 to 200 steps which you have to climb and this is the most tiring part of the journey also besides the steps .Here , they have really unique and antique items . You can see many foreign tourist are fascinated about the items sold by the local people. This cave consists of Ancient Temple of Lord Shiva. There are many beautiful sculptures and rock carvings.
