Explanation:

Incredible documentary. Even more than the BEAUTIFUL music and STUNNING visuals, what really moved me was the narrative being told throughout the film. It is a profound reflection on human nature - how it has changed in the last centuries from awe of nature to a desire for conquest; how the thirst for adventure and danger has emerged as many of our lives have become safer; how our egos drive us to want to overcome the mountains and the danger they represent (foolishly, fatally); how adventure has been coopted by large corporations, all at the expense of the local populations in places like Nepal where people take fatal risks to support the Western desire for adventure; how mountains should not be seen as an adversary in our desires to control the world, nor even mirrors for the emotional mountains within us, but as magnificent, indifferent, structures that remind us of our fragility, of the beauty of the world, of the need to be humble.
