This story gives the beautiful lesson of humanity. The story tells that the Cronin (writer)) was on traveling when he first saw a man who was staring at him  .

Then after some days exact same man came to him with his wife and introduce himself . Then Cronin reminds of a incident when he helps a orphans child who stole some money from office and got scared and was committed the suicide but Cronin saves and heals  him and then give money as the replacement of stolen money. Now that child after years becomes a man who was handling the orphanage  and gives alot money as charity works. Then the writer realize this was the best investment  i make ever.

I was returning from New York. I met a couple on the deck, one Mr John and his wife. He tried to introduce himself, but I could not recognise him. He produce his visiting card. Even then I could't identify him. Then the man began to tell his story. In his younger days he was working as a clerk in a solicitor's office in London. Utterly friendless, he fell into bad companies and wasted all his earnings in gambling. He stole an amount from the office table and lost it too in gambling. He got terribly despite and tried to commit suicide. The land lady informed the police. The police sergant sought my help. After one and a half hours strenuous effort we could bring him back to life. When I heard his story everything became clear to me. The man said that he bade farewell to all his habits. At present he is working as the director of a charitable organisation dedicated to the care of maladjusted and delinquent youths.
