He had defeated Muhammad Ghori 16 times.The courageous stories of Prithviraj's valor arrived at the ears of Sanyogita, the daughter of Kannauj ruler, Jayachand. At that time Jayachandra arranges a swayamvara for Sanyogita. He invited all the Rajput kings except Prithviraj Chauhan. When Sanyogita came to know ,she wrote a letter to Prithviraj Chauhan and expressed her desire to marry her.
On getting the letter, Prithviraj Chauhan came and took away Sanyogita along with him.
