It is basically like writing a film review in terms of style, but you need to add some specific details.
• The Name of the Series
• Series or Season Number you are reviewing OR
• Name of Episode you are reviewing
• Network or Streaming Service it is available on
• Time it airs if it is Network/Cable TV
If you review an entire season, you are going to want to discuss character arcs, narrative devices and assess the overall impact of the season.
If you review a single episode, make sure to discuss what that particular episode included that was worth watching.
Here is an example of an introduction:
Black Widows, available on AcornTV, is a fun, yet dark, Nordic series that follows the lives of three women who decide to kill their husbands. And that is just in the first ten minutes. The stakes only get raised from there….
At this point, you would want to introduce your main characters and explain how their function in the narrative.
Once you have introduced the characters, you can analyze the plot, the social message, the issue of cultural politics between Scandinavian counties—essentially whatever you want. It is your review.
