Answer

5/12 + 2/3 = first find the LCM

of denominater- 12 and 3 = 3×4 =12

then see how many times the 12 will go on 5/12 and 2/3 =5/12-×1 ×1 =5/12

2/3 ×3×3 =8/12=5/12 + 8/12 = 8+5= 13/12 we got the answer

Given - Fraction travelled

Find - Total time taken in travelling

Solution - Tony takes 65 minutes or 1 hour 5 minutes in travelling.

As per the known facts, 1 hour = 60 minutes

Firstly calculating the 5/12th of 60 minutes

Time is taken to reach office = 5/12*60

Time is taken to reach office = 25 minutes

Now, calculating the time taken to reach home

Time is taken to reach home = 2/3*60

Time is taken to reach home = 40 minutes.

Consequently, total time is taken in travelling = 25 + 40

Total time taken in travelling = 65 minutes.

Thus, Tony takes 65 minutes or 1 hour 5 minutes in travelling.
