Keeping in view the French Revolution, the above mentioned statement that, "Revolutions occur when the existing system becomes unbearable to vast majority of people" is true. 

It can be said because during the French Revolution; 

(i) The poor were getting poorer and the rich were getting richer. 

(ii) The King had an oppressive despotic and autocratic attitude towards the people. 

(iii) The labour was being exploited while the power lied in the hands of the nobles. 

(iv) There was class based discrimination. 

These aspects added up to the mass movement in France, The French Revolution. The system was oppressive to the majority of the people, which led to resentment and hatred.
