Rewrite the following passage in the past tense.

 Learning something new can be a scary experience. I am scared of water. I always remember my first swimming class to throw away that fear.  After a shower, I change my dress in the locker room and I come out to the pool. As I stand there timidly, the Instructor, pushes me into the water. I struggle to breathe in the beginning, but mange to pull my head out of the water. I succeed in learning to swim.
