a) After the revolt of 1857- The number of British troops was increased greatly. The British replaced sepoys who were Gurkhas, Sikhs and Pathans with brahmins, Rajputs and those from Awadh, Bihar and Central India.
b) The greatest consequence of the revolt was the rise of a feeling of nationalism in India. It was a turning point in the history of India's freedom struggle.
c) The British managed to defeat the rebels in March 1858, when Colin Campbell, the new commander in chief of the British army entered the city of Lucknow.
