1. I saw Ronit's car parked in front of the gate.

2. Nitika's book was lying on the table.

3. A R Rahman's music is beautiful.

4. Chris' hair is brown in colour.

5. Today is Mother's Day.

6. Ruskin Bond's stories are my favourite.

A simple apostrophe (') or an apostrophe 's' ('s) is used to signify possession. Therefore ‘the car of Ronit’ becomes Ronit's car. Similarly ‘the book belonging to Nitika’ can also be written as Nitika's book. However when it comes to Chris, the name already ends with an ‘s’. Therefore we will not add an ‘s’ after the apostrophe. We will simply place an apostrophe mark.
