Solution-

Time interval between two claps = 0.1 second.

∴ Time required for an echo = 0.1 second.

Now, v = 2d/t

= 2 × 14.5/0.1

= 290 m/s

___________________________

Echo: An echo is a repitition of sound caused by the reflection of a sound wave at a distant building, hill, trees or other obstacles. The distance d of obstacle that causes and echo is given by 2d= v×t.
