How often we wish for another chance
to have a fresh beginning
A chance to blot out our mistakes
and change failure into winning.
It does not take a new year
to make a brand new start.
It only takes the deep desire
to try with all your heart.
To live a little better
and to always be forgiving
To add a little sunshine
to the world in which we are living.
So, never give up in despair
and think that you are through,
For there's always a tomorrow
and a chance to start anew.
The poem is about how everyone wishes for a chance to start fresh. To erase all the mistakes and failures to be left with a clean slate. In the poem it says, "It does not take a new year to make a brand new start". People think a new year means a new start. You don't have to wait for the next year to try to be better, all you have to do is have a deep desire and change the decisions you make that go on the right path. Tyler west on mistakes he made me go away but he thought the only way to do that was to commit suicide. He ended up realizing that suicide wasn't the answer it was decisions he made that were, "I'm not the problem here, Mr. Hughes. I'm tired feeling like I am"(223). At that moment Tyler decide to take school seriously and got all of his work done, and chose to stand up to Chip and his dad. His dad ended up listening to him and actually became a "dad" for once. There is no specific rhyme scheme but some of the words rhyme in each stanza. This is not relate to me because I usually choose the right decision to go on the right path. I make a mistake it's usually a mistake I made while learning in school, not going to party and having the cops called type of mistake.
”Another chance” is a poem by Helen Steiner in which the poet talks about second chances which people always want after their first mistake.
He says to the readers that most of the people have desires to get a chance for past things they have done.
Hope is always their even after the darkest of the clouds.
So a new chance must be taken and start working for future.
