Answer:
Mother Nature has always maintained equilibrium for the living organisms to live in peace and harmony. However, recent years have seen an increase in ecological imbalance and an increase in the level of environmental pollution. This is due to the thoughtless destruction of trees by human beings to satiate their undying wants.
Trees are considered as a natural wealth. They provide greenery, fruits and vegetables, wood, shade for weary travellers and are a safe haven to countless birds and animals. Trees provide us clean air to breathe and even prevent soil erosion. The consequence of their absence will be disastrous. There will be shortage of rainfall and the rivers will dry up.
Steps are being taken by the Government to ameliorate the situation. However, a substantial change will occur only when each one of us join hands in preserving and protecting our environment.
