Answer:

Age of ria = x

Age of Rahul= x-4

After 10 year:-

→ ratio of age is 9:10

SO,. (x) +(x-4)+20 = 9+10

2x-16 = 19

x = (19-16)/2

x = 3/2 or 1.5 years

and hence Rahul's age will be in negative....

this shows that Rahul hasn't born......

AND YES IS A ERROR IN THE QUESTION ....PLEASE CHECK AGAIN.....

I know 9:10 can be done like...

9y+10y.... or increasing the age....

10(9:10)..... [ means 20 years later ]

but it will not make his age in positive....

Hope it will help you.....

⠀⠀⠀⠀

•Ria is 4 years older to rahul.

• After 10 year go then the age of rahul and Ria is= 9:10

\sf{\bold{\red{\underline{\underline{To\:Find}}}}}

Rahul’s present age .??

\sf{\bold{\purple{\underline{\underline{Solution}}}}}

Let, the age of Ria be x years and the age of Rahul be (x+4) years

After 10 years,

☆Age of Ria = (x + 10) years

☆Age of Rahul = (x + 14) years

So,

According to the question,

\rightsquigarrow \tt{\dfrac{x+10}{x+14}=\dfrac{9}{10}  }

\rightsquigarrow \tt{10(x+10)=9(x+14)  }

\rightsquigarrow \tt{ 10x+100=9x+126 }

\rightsquigarrow \tt{10x-9x=126-100  }

\rightsquigarrow \tt{ x=26 }

{\fcolorbox{aqua}{navy}{\fcolorbox{yellow}{blue}{\bf{\color{yellow}{answer}}}}}

\therefore \tt{Present~ age ~of _{(ria)}}=\tt{x=26~years}

so,

\tt{present ~age_{(rahul)}} \implies

\rightsquigarrow \tt{x+4  }

\rightsquigarrow \tt{ 26+4 }

\rightsquigarrow \tt{30 ~years }
