Given:

The price of one kind of rice = Rs. 15 per kg

The price of another kind of rice = Rs. 20 per kg

The ratio in which the two kinds of rice = 2:3

To find:

The cost of 1 kg of rice mixture.

Solution:

Let us assume that a single kg of rice when a mixture is made with the help of two kinds of rice be x kg. Then we can say that:

(20-x)/ (x-15) = 2/3

60 - 3x = 2x - 30

90 = 5x

On solving, we get:

x = 18

Thus the cost of 1 kg of the mixture of rice will be Rs. 18 per kg.
