Richa has three bags of different articles . bag a weighs 3kg more than bag b and bag c weighs 5kg more than bag b . The total weight of articles is 23kg. how much does bag a weigh






Solve by simultaneous equation​

Let the bag b be weighed x kg

∴ Bag a weighs = (x + 3)kg

∴ Bag a weighs = (x + 3)kg∴ Bag c weighs = (x + 5)kg

∴, According to the question:

Weight of bag a, b and c = 23kg

=> (x+3) + x + (x+5) = 23

=> x + 3 + x + x + 5 = 23

=> x + x + x + 3 + 5 = 23

=> 3x + 8 = 23

=> 3x = 23 - 8

=> 3x = 15

=> x = 15/3

∴, x = 5 kg

∴ Answer : The bag b weighs x kg ,i.e., 5kg.
