Richard has to go from Delhi to Mumbai for shopping. He buys 16 bus
tickets for himself and his company for 450. Each first class ticket cost
50 and each second class ticket cost * 15. Find the cost of another lot of 16
ticket in which the present number of first and second class tickets are
interchanged :
(A) 480
(B) 590
(C) ₹360
(D) 485
(E) None of these​

Answer:

let the number of first class ticket is x

then the number of second class ticket 16-x

50x+15 (16-x)=450

50x+240-15x=450

=>35x=210

=>x=210/35=6

so number of 1st class ticket is 6 and second class ticket is 16-6=10

cost of tickets when 1st class and 2nd class ticket are interchange

10×50+6×15

=500+90=590

so option b is the right answer
