Answers
It is absolutely true riches can buy us luxuries and comforts but not health and happiness. This truth is well-highlighted in the chapter A Triumph of Surgery. Mrs. Pupmhrey was quite a rich lady; she had all the luxuries and provided the same to Tricki, her pet dog. In her affection and love for her pet, she gave her sweet food, Horlicks, cream cakes, chocolates, etc. as many times as the dog demanded. This sweet and fatty food made Tricki enormously fat.
His health suffered. He had to be admitted to James Herriot’s clinic where he treated him by not giving him much to eat and making him do lots of physical exercise.
Explanation:
In the light of the story, "A triumph of Surgery". We have seen that the rich lady had her dog stuffed with unhealthy food which led to the illness of her dog until he was taken by the doctor who kept him with other dogs who did not have that luxurious life.
But the right kind of treatment made the dog healthy and happy again.
Thus, we learnt from the lesson that it is not the wealth always that makes you happy or healthy. Specially in case of the current situation where people have money but there is no cure for COVID-19
