Kala Azar is a disease caused by Leishmania..It is caused by Leishmania Dono-vani.Kala Azar is also called Dum-Dum

There are 3 main forms of this disease called
I) Visceral(serious form)
II) Cutaneous (common)
III) Meuco Cutaneous

*This disease is transmitted by a vector called Phleluotomus Argentipes(sandly). ++


I) It is characterized by irregular bouts of fever,weight loss, enlargement of spleen(inflammation).It also results in anemia

II)It's common form that causes skin esion,alsar(round) on exposed parts of the body.

III) It leads to partial or total destruction of mucous membrane of nose ,throat etc

It is transmitted by Sandfly also called ++(see up)

First Sandfly takes a blood meal.the stage of parasite is called promastigote
Second,The promastigote is engulfed by macrophges and wbc
Then,They go simple division to transform to amastigote
Then, the Sandfly once again takes a blood meal containing amastigote
Inside the gut of Sandfly the amastigote transform to pro-mastigote
They swim and reach the probosis of Sandfly.

And now it's ready to infect other person!
