so for first answer apply Pythagoras theorem in n both triangle

so in triangle A perpendicular =5

and in triangle B hypotenuse =13

so u can compare both the shortest sides

now in second part

u can apply RHS rule of congruency or SSS rule any one u want but i will recommend RHS rule

In triangle A let the shortest side's length is x.

so, according to the Pythagoras theorem

X^2 + 12 ^2 = 13^2

or, x^2 + 144 = 169

or, x^2 = 169 - 144 = 25

or, x = 5

And also in triangle B the shortest side's length is 5 .

Therefore it is simply proved that the two shorter sides are equal in both of the triangles.
