Right lung is bigger than the left lung.

  • Human beings have a pair of lungs present in our respiratory system which are responsible for intake of Oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide. for each and every cell to produce energy for functioning it requires a certain amount of oxygen which is taken in through the lung hence are the most crucial part of our body.
  • Although we have two lungs but the right lung is bigger than the left lung, the left part of the lung has to accommodate the heart inside the cavity of bones protecting organs (also known as ribs) along the left side hence the size differs.
  • The heart is basically placed in the center region of a body but due to its shape majority of its side is pushed towards the left hence leaving the left lung with lesser space. To accommodate two organs in the same space one organ needs to reduce its size hence the left one is smaller.
