Solution :-

This statement is wrong.

Earth's core is divided into two parts. The outer core and the inner core. Outer core is a liquid layer and it is about 2260 km thick. In this region, the density is estimated to be much more higher than the mantle or crust ranging between 9900 to 12200 kg/m³. The outer core is believed to be composed of 80 % iron along with nickel and some other lighter elements. The temperature of the outer core ranges from 4030° C in the outer regions to 5730° C closest to the inner core.

The inner core is composed primarily of iron and nickel and had a radius of around 1200 km. Density in the inner core is between 12600 to 13000 kg/m³.The inner core is a solid layer. The temperature of the inner core is 5400° C.

So, this statement is wrong because the outer core is a liquid layer and the inner core is a solid layer.

The core of earth interior is made up of hard rock is wrong.

Explanation:

  • The earth is divided into three layers as the crust, mantle, and core the core is divided into outer and inner. This inner core is made up of heavy metals and thus is solid in nature but the outer core is liquid as it has high temperatures.
  • The presence of high-temperature gradient between the inner and outer core creates a pressure difference that affects the inner core and makes it hard and solid.
  • The (NiFe) and radioactive elements that are found in the inner core make it dense and heavy and thus instead of hard rocks its made up of heavy elements.
