a² + b² = c²

a² + 4² = 5²

a²= 25-16

a=√9

a= 3

∴ altitude or height of the triangle = 3cm

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER..⬇⬇

\underline{SOLUTION}

Given,

In the right triangle,

Base = 4 cm

Hypotenuse = 5 cm

By using Pythagorus Theorem,

(Hypotenuse) {}^{2} = (Base) {}^{2} + (Altitude) {}^{2} \\ \\ = > (5) {}^{2} = (4) {}^{2} + ( Altitude) {}^{2} \\ \\ = > 25 = 16 + (Altitude ) {}^{2} \\ \\ = > 16 + (Altitude ) {}^{2} = 25 \\ \\ = > ( Altitude) {}^{2} = 25 - 16 \\ \\ = > (Altitude) {}^{2} = 9 \\ \\ = > Altitide = \sqrt{9} \\ \\ = > Altitude = 3

•°• Altitude of the right triangle = 3 cm

 Area \: \: of \: \: the \: \: right \: \: triangle \: \\ \\ = \frac{1}{2} × Base × Altitude \\ \\ = (\frac {1}{2} × 4 × 3 ) \: \: sq.cm\\ \\ = (2 × 3 ) \: \: sq.cm\\ \\ = 6 \: \: sq.cm

•°• Area of the right triangle = 6 sq.cm
