Step-by-step explanation:

Let Riya’s age be x.

Let her mother’s age be y.

Given:

y=4x . . . . . (i)

y+5=3(x+5) . . . . . (ii)

Solution:

Use the relation obtained in (i) and substitute it in eq. (ii).

So, we get

y+5=3(x+5) replaced by

this

4x+5 = 3 (x+5)

⇒ 4x + 5 = 3x + 15 ……………………….(Using the basic algebraic solving rules)

sorting variable to the L.H.S and constants to the R.H.S,

4x - 3x = 15 - 5

⇒ x = 10

∵ y=4x

∴ y = 4 x 10 = 40

∴ y = 40

Conclusion:

Riya is currently 10 years old, while her mother is 40 years old.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Rima's age be x years

Let her mother's age be 4x years

Age of Rima after 5 years = (x+5) years

Age of her mother after 5 years = (4x+5) years

According to the problem(ATP),

(4x+5) = 3(x+5)

(4x+5) = 3x + 15

4x - 3x = 15 - 5

x = 10

Therefore,

Rima's age = 10 years

Rima's mother age = (4*10) years = 40 years

Hope it helps you!!
