Rini, Suchandra and Rai made a table with empty

match boxes. They coloured the boxes in such

a way that the toy table looks like a table. They

made drawers with handle. All the match boxes are

identical. The length, breadth and height of the match

box are 2.5 cm by 4 cm by 1.5 cm.

The dimensions of match box are 4 cm×2.5 cm×1.5 cm

∴ length =4 cm

breadth =2.5 cm

height =1.5 cm

Now,

Volume of = length × breadth × height

One match box =4 cm×2.5 cm×1.5 cm

=15 cm 3

∴ Volume of one match box =15 cm 3

⇒ Volume of 12 match boxes +12× Volume of one match box

=12×15 cm 3

=180 cm 3

∴ Volume of packet containing 12 match boxes =180 cm 3
