The mathematical problem is solved below :

It is given that,

Total distance from Rishabh's home to the school is = 5 km

And, distance covered by Rishabh from his home to school is = 50%

To find : Distance covered by Rishabh

So, to calculate the distance travelled by Rishabh, we have to multiply 50% with the total distance from his home to the school.

Let us first convert 50% into the form of fraction. So, it will be :

50\%

 =  \frac{50}{100}

Now,

50\% \: of \: 5

 \frac{50}{100}  \times 5

 \frac{1}{2}  \times 5

 \frac{5}{2}

2.5

So, Rishabh has covered 2.5 km

Given: Rishabh covered 50% of the distance from his home to the school which is 5\ km.

To Find: How much distance did he cover.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here,

        50% means \frac{50}{100}=\frac{1}{2}

First we have to define 50% of 5\ km,

=\frac{1}{2}\times 5

=2.5\ km

Thus, 2.5\ km distance Rishabh cover.
