Rishabh scored thrice as many runs as Varun . Together their runs fell 8 shorts of a double century . How many runs did each one score?

Let runs scored by Rishabh be 3x, and that of Varun be x,

Given,          3x+x=200-8 ⇒x=192/4 ⇒x=48

Therefore, Rishabh scored 3x = 3×48= 144 runs

                  Varun scored x = 48 runs(ANS.)
