25 p - 5 coins
50p - 10 coins
let the no. of coins of 25 p be x and 50p be y.
so, x + y = 15 _ (1)
25x + 50y = 500 (5 rupees is 500 p)
= 25( x + 2y) = 500
x + 2y = 20 _(2)
(1)-(2)
x + y = 15
-x - 2y = -20
= -y = -5
y = 5
x+y= 15
x+5 = 15
x= 10
50p - 10 coins
