Let common multiple of ratio 5:4 be x.
=> No. of Rs. 100 notes = 5x
=> No. of Rs. 50 notes = 4x

Value of 5x Rs. 100 notes = 5x*100 = Rs. 500x
Value of 4x Rs. 50 notes = 4x*50 = Rs. 200x

As per question,
=> 500x+200x = 7000
=> 700x = 7000
=> x = 10

∴ No. of Rs. 100 notes = 5(10) = 50
∴ No. of Rs. 50 notes = 4(10) = 40

Answer:

Fifty ₹100 notes and forty ₹50 notes

Step-by-step explanation:

Let number of ₹100 notes be 5y and number of ₹50 note be 4y.

Total money Rita has = ₹(5y×100+4y×50) = ₹500y+200y = ₹700y

700y=7000

y=7000÷700=10

So, number of ₹100 notes = 5×10 = 50 and number of ₹50 notes = 4×10 = 40
