Rita places 50 ml of water into a 100ml cylindrical vessel and places it in the freezer overnight. Next day she observed that the level of ice was higher than the level of water she started with. What could be the reason for this?

when water freezes , dissolved air present in the water gets trapped b/w the ice molecules hence increasing the volume.
