♣Rita reads 3/8 of the book on Monday and 4/5 of the remainder on tuesday.If there were 30 pages unread,how many pages did the book contain?

\large\underline\bold{Question:-}

\sf\ Let\: the\: total \:no.\: of \:pages\: of\: book\: be \:x.

\sf\ Then\: the \:book\: read\: on\: monday\: was \frac{3}{8}\:x.

\sf\ The\: book \:read \:on\: tuesday \:was \frac{4}{5} \:of \frac{5}{8}x.

\sf\ frac{3}{8x} + \frac{1}{2}x + 30 = x

\sf\ x - \frac{3}{8}x - \frac{1}{2}x = 30

\sf\ x(1 - \frac{3}{8} - \frac{1}{2}) = 30

\sf\ x(\frac{8}{8} - \frac{3}{8} - \frac{4}{8}) = 30

\sf\ =\frac{1}{8}x = 30

\sf\ =x = 30 × 8

\large\underline\bold\red{x = 240 pages}
