In pickles or certain food items, dilute acids, like vinegar, citric acid, benzoic acid etc., are added to enhance flavour or as preservative.

If they are stored in metal container, the acid reacts slowly with the metal surface to leach the metal into the food. Making the food unsafe to consume. In worse case, metal poisoning.

The worst is copper poisoning if the acidic food is stored indefinitely in copper utensils.

It is safe to store the acidic food in glass containers.

OR

Pickles have citric acid in them so if we store them in metal container the acid may react to the metal surface and hence spoils the metal container as well as pickle
