Solution :-

we have given that ,

• Total number of pages in small book = p
• The number of pages in one of the books is twice that of the other.

So,

we can conclude that, number of pages in large book are twice of the number of pages in small book .

Therefore,

→ Total number of pages in large book = 2 * p = 2p .

Now, we have given that,

• The total number of pages that she wants to read on each day of the vacation is the same.
• Number of vacation days = d .
• she wants to complete both story books in vacation time.

So,

→ Total number of pages she has to read from both story books = p pages of small story book + 2p pages of large story book = p + 2p = 3p pages.

and,

→ Number of vacation days = d .

Also,

→ she is reading equal number of pages per day.

Therefore,

→ number of pages she reads per day = (Total number of pages in both story books ) / (Number of vacation days.)

→ number of pages she reads per day = (3p) / d . (option A) (Ans.)

Hence, Rita has to read (3p/d) number of pages per day in order to complete both story books during the vacation .
