She sings to her of angels, of things not of this world in the hope that these ideas shall make her living more worthwhile. She hopes that her daughter will grow up in a world where she'll be able to believe in angels. And above all, she hopes to buy a little more time before the inevitable close of truth hits her baby.

Outside my window, beyond the far reaches of morality. Across the darkness of anarchy, a dark shadow staggers on behind the ideas of a sophomoric girl. The shadow is both metaphorical and fictitious. But it's manifestation is more terrifying than anything she has ever experienced.
